24/12/09 Stage 2 of EOI complete

Earlier this year Bettle was appointed by a group of central North Island Primary health organisations to facilitate a series of discussions  with a view to developing a strategic approach to the delivery of better, sooner, more convenient health care to their 500,000 patients.  This process led to the formation of the Midlands Regional Neetwork and the submission of an Expression of Interest to the Ministry of Health.

Having reviewed the EOI, the Ministry gave the group the go ahead to prepare detailed business Plans.  We are delighted to have been asked  to continue in a leadership role in this process.

This process is in full swing, and involves a huge amount of work from a large and widely distributed group of people.  One of the most exciting aspects of the project has been the use of technology to distribute information, capture feedback and allow consultation to occur 24 hours a day 7 days a week  - this has been achieved through the establishment of a social network using the NING platform. This website has 220 invited and enrolled active participants.  All documentation and discussion occurs on this forum to ensure transparency and to give everyone the chance to contribute.  Also using the web for our wider stakeholder/interested party group we have created a project overview website which provides updates on progress, timelines, and answers to common questions.
