23/12/09 Xmas donation to Enderley Breakfast Club
Once again, in place of a branded knick-knack destined for the back of a dark shelf in the garage, we have donated our Xmas present budget to the Enderley Breakfast Club so that they can give some of Hamilton's least priviledged kids a better start to the day, and to life. They will use the money to buy thousands of pieces of toast, hundreds of tins of spagetti and baked beans, trucklads of milk and thousands of bowls of cereal.
Enderley park runs a breakfast club, after school, and holiday programme project for local primary school age children living in the area. These children have mostly been identified by local schools and support agencies as in need of support due to home circumstances, and the negative impact of living in an environment of poverty, high social need, where the gang culture has a real influence, and many children are raised by benefit dependant solo parents.
The centre operates a breakfast club every school morning, the children who need it receive a lunch to take to school, and on their return are given an afternoon snack, followed by an evening meal before they go home.
Bettle Advertising also made a donation last xmas and this year's will go a long way in 2010. Our support has made a huge difference as local schools have regularly advised of the marked improvement seen in the children attending the programme.
